Dry Ice Blast Cleaning; the Safe, Cost-Effective Solution

Food and Beverage

Food and Beverage

Equipment and facilities get dirty with grease, wax, proteins, seasonings, crumbs, carbon residue, glue, ink and other build-up, which can prevent equipment from operating at peak efficiency and shorten asset life. Dry ice blasting can help clean food processing equipment without the need for scrubbing, water clean-up or the use of harmful chemicals that could contaminate food. As the dry ice sublimates on impact, there is no secondary waste created and most equipment can be cleaned in place without time-consuming disassembly.

Power Generation

Power Generation

Where there is a need to keep electrical equipment running without interruption, dry ice blast cleaning provides a non-conductive cleaning process that allows equipment to be cleaned in-place without cool down or disassembly. This includes generators, turbines, stators, rotors, compressors and boilers.

Aerospace

Aerospace

Tow hitches, landing gear systems, engine bay covers and other components can be cleaned rapidly without disassembly. Brake dust and other soils and residues can be removed during restoration.

Pharmaceuticals

Pharmaceutical

Sanitation is an important factor in the production of pharmaceuticals and dry ice blasting can be an efficient solution to cleaning stainless steel containers, mixers, reactors, tablet molds and separators.

Contract Cleaning

Contract Cleaning

Dry Ice blasting can reduce the overall time spent cleaning when compared to sanding, scraping or scrubbing with solvents. In addition, there is no secondary waste from dry ice itself as it sublimates on contact unlike the residual waste from grit or liquid cleaning methods.

Contractors can use dry ice blasting to clean:

  • Building surfaces after years of mold infestation or even smoke and fire damage.
  • Inside factories of dirt, soot, grease, oil build-up etc.
  • De-energized switchgear and insulators that can be cleaned quickly and efficiently without disassembly or secondary waste.
  • Printing presses that can be cleaned without disassembly.  The dry ice blast cleaning process can help avoid the use of dangerous solvents, scrapers, chisels and emery clothes on certain delicate components.
  • Some equipment in the pulp and paper industry that can be cleaned in-place without disassembly or cooling down. This cleaning process can help to remove paper process residues such as dirt, soot, grease and oil build-up.

The dry ice blast cleaning process generates flush-action cleaning power for production, cleaning and maintenance applications. Dry ice pellets can replace chemical, water or grit blasting in certain applications and the dry ice creates no secondary waste as it sublimates on contact.

To support our customer’s cleaning needs, Linde Canada has introduced a dry ice blasting machine rental program in Canada. For more information or to book a demo, contact your local Linde Canada location at 1.800.225.8247 and ask to speak with the Dry Ice champion in your region.
